The Novax Fanned Fret system creates a tension gradient across the strings (more tension on the bass and less on the treble). The increased tension creates more power and focus in the low strings, especially useful for drop tunings, and a more complex, richer high-end.

The cutaway allows the player to access the upper part of the fretboard. Generally accepted view is that a cutaway does not significantly affect the sound of the guitar. All cutaways are artfully bound and with full miters.

The sideport may give the player a more 3 dimensional experience of the sound of the guitar. Opinions vary among luthiers and players if the effect of the sideport is beneficial, neutral or negative. The sideport is reminiscent of an archtop f-hole and is bound in flamed maple.

A French polished (shellac) guitar may not be the best choice for all guitarists. Like all finishes it has its pros and cons. French polish is VERY thin and allows the guitar’s top to vibrate with minimal dampening. If you want the best sounding guitar without compromise then French polish may work for you. Conversely, this finish does not offer the same level of protection, and may not exhibit flawless cosmetic perfection as many modern finishes.
